In order to achieve sustainable transport, Indonesia can follow the ASI Framework. Below are some proposal of program which we can regulate for “I (improve)” Factor
1. Mandatory of Start Stop System (Idling Stop) for Motorcycle : According to Honda Data, with the adoption of Idling stop system, it can save around 7% of fuel when tested using ECE-R40 mode. In Indonesia average 7 Million new motorcycle was sold every year and until end of 2014, total motorcycle population reached around 90 Million. If refer to Pune research data, every year 2W lost 5 liters of Gasoline for Idling then every year Indonesia has to waste 450 Million liters
2. Mandatory of Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Low Friction Tire. According to research conducted in US by NHTSA, adopting low friction tire can reduce rolling resistance by 20% and it will effect on Fuel Consumption up to 4% depending on speed and driving cycle. And for 1 psi drop of Tire pressure, fuel economy decline by 0.3%.
3. Adopting Low Friction Engine Oil. By Changing oil to Low Viscosity type, it can effect up to 2% in fuel economy.
4. Mandatory of Vehicle Maintenance : According to Research data, proper maintenance of vehicle can increase FE up to 4%.
5. Campaign of Eco Drive : From Some research it was concluded that changing aggressive driving at low speed will caused penalty of FE around 6% but if doing it in higher speed (Highway) the impact will be up to 33% (Source : Owner Related Fuel Economy Improvements)

So, if we combine all the factors from 1-5, Indonesia can save Fuel in huge numbers every year without investing so much in technology.
